1 Samuel 16:1-13 – Focus Verses 6 & 7: “When they arrived Samuel took one look at Eliab and thought, “Surely this is the Lord’s anointed!” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Good morning I was just going to share a quick Facebook or Instagram post but I wanted to share a few extra words of encouragement so here’s today’s devotional scripture:
Although I have read this scripture many times before, it wasn't until the other day that the Holy Spirit revealed its relevance to a former situation I was in. I've shared my testimony before but in case you haven't heard it you can watch the video at the bottom of my "About" page. I explained how I was in an abusive relationship a little over 5 years ago, but what I don't get to share in that video is something that happened at the end of that relationship.... Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, "Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee." (John 5:14 KJV)
"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." - Galatians 5:16Please read Galatians 5:16-26 for the full context:
"Walking in the bible not only refers to moving along on foot. It's a figure of speech that refers to our behavior, conduct, and course of life. It refers to how we observe the laws or customs. It ultimately refers to our lifestyle. “...GOD! I knew it—when I was back home, I knew this was going to happen!....Ready at the drop of a hat to turn your plans of punishment into a program of forgiveness!" -- Jonah 4:1-2 MSG |
