I hope you enjoyed some of the many personal moments of our NICU journey. I thought that it would only be right to testify to the glory of Jesus Christ about some of the other highlights we experienced during the 6 months she was in the hospital.
I’m going to break these tips into 2 categories: Resources and Personal. While this is probably going to be the most helpful to those whose babies are spending over 90 days in the NICU, there will also be some basic information to help most parents experiencing what we often called the “NICU rollercoaster” journey.
I had the privilege of ministering to some young ladies at an event earlier this year on the subject of Love coming from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 and what it REALLY is, and looks like when applied in each season, whether they were single, courting/engaged, or married. It was an awesome time! Despite my lack of qualification or expertise, The Lord really moved upon those ladies hearts and many were able to take away what they needed from the things God had me to share, so I thought it would be nice to finally post some of the message and prayerfully you will find things to take away from it as well.
First read Proverbs 31:10-31

I was going to title this "The Worthy WIFE" but even an unmarried woman who possesses these qualities is just as worthy. When you read this chapter you see a model for the qualities Godly women should possess. She may not have them all, but she can definitely take something from most of them because she learns the necessary skills inside AND outside the home, becoming a woman with PURPOSE. By providing for her family and making a living through the examples given, she's teaching other women to live a life pleasing unto the Lord. She gives sons an example of wisdom as they are pursuing wives, who have been prepared to compliment them as they walk in their purpose. She works hard to be a wonderful businesswoman, wife, mother, daughter, friend, niece, or sister. She's not lazy or idle, but someone making a difference in whatever way she can contribute. With the help of Dakes and a few other study references, I want to share 31 Qualities of a worthy woman, so I encourage you to grab your bible (or click the link I gave above) so that we can break this down line upon line:
"I want you to live as free of complications as possible. When you’re unmarried, you’re free to concentrate on simply pleasing the Master. Marriage involves you in all the nuts and bolts of domestic life and in wanting to please your spouse, leading to so many more demands on your attention.....
I had people say I was crazy or foolish for wanting to keep myself till I get married. That I wasn't being realistic in this day and age. I didn't always live this way, let's be real, but by His grace, I remained patient; I obeyed God in telling me to cut off the people he knew weren't for me. I stayed in the Word, resisted the tempting text messages, pictures and phone calls that would lead me out the door & laid up in some man's bed.
